Therapy is also provided for pre and post-surgical candidates. Our occupational therapists use comprehensive therapy treatment including manual therapy, exercise, and splinting.   Goals The primary goal of hand therapy is to maximize the individual's independence and function for work, leisure, and self-care tasks.   Specific goals include: Increase range of motion, strength, dexterity and function Decrease pain Prevent further injury through education   Services Following a comprehensive evaluation, individualized treatment sessions consist of:   Sensory testing / re-education / desensitization Scar management Range of motion Splinting Myofacial release Joint mobilization Modialities - ultrasound, iontophoresis, e-stim Edema management Massage Kinesiotaping Strength training Dexterity testing/training Joint protection Disease education Ergonomic training Adaptive Equipment Home exercise program     Overview • Outpatient Programs
