Hand Therapy Program
Fairlawn's Outpatient Center offers hand therapy for individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including cumulative trauma disorders, nerve injuries, tendon repair, arthritis, and fractures. Therapy is also provided for pre and post-surgical candidates. Our occupational therapists use comprehensive therapy treatment including manual therapy, exercise, and splinting.
Goals
The primary goal of hand therapy is to maximize the individual's independence and function for work, leisure, and self-care tasks.
Specific goals include:
- Increase range of motion, strength, dexterity and function
- Decrease pain
- Prevent further injury through education
