Amputee Rehabilitation Program
Fairlawn's Amputee Rehabilitation Program is designed for individuals who have had an amputation due to a traumatic or medical event.
Goals
The program's primary goals are to:
- Maximize patients' potential for independence
- Facilitate their adjustment to loss, discomfort, and disability
Program Components
Our inpatient Amputee Rehabilitation Program provides the acute rehabilitation services necessary to manage the medical complexities as well as the functional and psycho-social needs of post-op amputees. The program includes:
- Comprehensive Medical Management
- Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services to attain wheelchair level independence
- Skin and Wound Care Management
- Patient/Family Education and Support
- Case Management
