 | DAVE RICHER, CEO
Having worked in the rehabilitation field for more than 25 years, David brings extensive management and clinical experience to his leadership role at Fairlawn. Prior to being appointed CEO in August of 2008, he served for 10 years as the CEO of HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Ludlow, MA. He previously worked at Fairlawn in several clinical and administrative roles, including Director of Rehabilitation Services. He also served as the Assistant Director of Occupational Therapy at New England Rehabilitation Hospital, Woburn, MA, and as an occupational therapist at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. David earned his MBA at Framingham State College and his BS in occupational therapy at Utica College of Syracuse University. A member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, he formerly served as Vice President of the Massachusetts Association for Occupational Therapy.

 | DR. ARTHUR PAPPAS, Chairman of the Board of Directors A founding member of Fairlawn's Board of Directors, Dr. Pappas is Vice Chancellor for Clinical Affairs at UMass Medical School and Vice President for Affiliate Relations at UMass Memorial Health Care. He is also Professor and Chair Emeritus of the Department of Orthopedics and Physical Rehabilitation at UMass Memorial Health Care. He is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He is well known for his contributions to orthopedic care for disabled children and athletes, as well as the development of community and public health programs. |

 | WILLIAM JOHNSON, Executive Vice President Since joining Fairlawn's staff in 1993, Bill has served in a variety of roles dedicated to developing and managing hospital programs and services. A licensed speech-language pathologist, he previously served as Clinical Director of the Speech and Hearing Center at Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg, MA. Bill earned his BS in Communication Disorders at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and his MA in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. |

 | DR. PETER BAGLEY, Medical Director A pulmonologist and internal medicine physician, Dr. Bagley previously served as the Clinical Director of Fairlawn's Ventilator/Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. He also serves as Director of the Intensive Care Unit at U Mass Memorial Health Care, Memorial Campus, and as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester. A graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine for Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care. |

 | MARY ALEKSIEWICZ, Vice President of Nursing Mary brings more than 30 years of clinical and management experience to her role as Fairlawn's Vice President of Nursing, a position she has held since 1997. However, her commitment to Fairlawn began in 1982 when she initially served as a staff nurse and IV/Chemotherapy Supervisor. Then, in 1987, when the hospital transitioned to a rehabilitation focus, she earned her credential as a Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse and later served as Director of Nursing Practice and Nursing Director for our Geriatric and Neuromuscular Servicelines. A graduate of the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, Mary earned her BS in Nursing at Assumption College, Worcester. A past recipient of the Massachusetts Nursing Association's Staff Nurse Award for Clinical Excellence, she serves on the Worcester State College Nursing Advisory Board, the Board of Directors for Pernet Family Health and the Fairlawn Foundation. Mary is a member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, the Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives, and the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society. |

 | JOHN FLAHERTY, Controller Prior to assuming his position at Fairlawn in October of 2004, John served as an Audit Manager for Alexander, Aronson, Finning & Co., P.C. in Westborough, MA. He also previously worked in several financial services positions for UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester. A certified public accountant, John earned his certificate in Accounting at Assumption College. He is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross. |

 | ROSALIE LAWLESS, Director of Human Resources
Rosalie brings more than 25 years of experience in the Human Resources field to her role as Fairlawn’s Director of Human Resources. Prior to joining Fairlawn, she served as the Vice President of Human Resources for the VNA Care Network and Hospice, Worcester; she also previously worked as the Assistant Personnel Manager for the Worcester Public Schools. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, she earned her MBA and Advanced Certificate in Business Studies at Anna Maria College, Paxton. She is also certified as a senior professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resources Management. Along with serving as the chairperson of the Regional Employment Board of Southern Worcester County, Rosalie is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Workforce Investment Board, and both the Healthcare Advisory Board and the Business Advisory Board for Quinsigamond Community College. |

 | JACQUELINE GRADY, Director of Marketing Operations Jackie manages referral services, admissions, marketing/public relations, and managed care at Fairlawn. Prior to assuming her current position in 2008, she served for 10 years as the hospital's Marketing Coordinator/Referral Services Supervisor; she also previously worked as a clinical coordinator and primary nurse at Fairlawn. A Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse and a graduate of St. Vincent School of Nursing, she earned her BSN at Worcester State College. |

 | PAULA J. BIGELOW, Director of Quality Management & Education Paula brings extensive clinical and administrative experience to her role as Fairlawn’s Director of Quality and Education. In that role, she manages the hospital’s quality initiatives, including compliance with regulatory agencies (i.e., Joint Commission, DPH), and safety policies, as well as management and evaluation of patient satisfaction data. She also oversees and assists in implementation of the hospital’s overall education plan, including orientation and training, in-services, and staff competencies. A registered nurse, Paula earned her Master of Science in Nursing Management and Administration at the University of Massachusetts, Worcester, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Worcester State College, and her Associate Degree in Nursing Science at Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester. Prior to assuming her current position at Fairlawn, she served as Director of Patient Care Services and Assistant Administrator at Hubbard Regional Hospital, Webster. She also previously worked as the Director of Nursing at the Meadows of Leicester, Rochdale, MA, Director of Patient Care Services at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Western Massachusetts, Ludlow, and as Director of the Vent Pulmonary Program at Fairlawn.* Additionally, she has served as an ICU nurse at several Massachusetts hospitals. She is a member of the Iota Phi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau. |

 | NANCY CURRIE, Director of Case Management Nancy Currie, LICSW, serves as the director of Fairlawn’s Case Management Department. Prior to joining Fairlawn, Nancy was a Social Service Manager for Fallon Community Health Plan’s Summit Eldercare in Worcester. She also previously worked in administrative and clinical roles at Harrington Hospice in Southbridge, MA, and Overlook Hospice, Charlton, MA. A graduate of Clark University, she earned her MSW at Springfield College, Springfield, MA. |

 | MATTHEW AKULONIS, Director of Support Operations Serving as Director of Support Operations since 1993, Matt administers a variety of clinical support departments at Fairlawn, including radiology, pharmacy, food service/nutrition, and security/plant operations. He earned his MBA in Healthcare Administration at Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA, and his BS in Business Administration at the State University of New York, Oswego, NY. Matt previously served as Director of Operations for the Sheraton Hotel Corporation, Plymouth, MA, and as Operations Audit Manager for Americana Hotels Corporation, New York, NY. |
