Fairlawn has three inpatient units. Each has a team of rehabilitation professionals trained to meet the specialized needs of patients in that unit.
All rooms have individual patient bureaus, personal wardrobe closets, a bedside television and telephone. The TV, which includes access to a movie channel, and the telephone, which may be used to make local calls, are provided free of charge. At the end of each patient unit there is a large therapeutic gymnasium. Along with all the specialized equipment needed for therapy, these gymnasiums include full kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry areas so patients can practice activities of daily living. Each patient unit has a sunny, glassed-in bridge area where patients and their families may relax or visit with one another. Visitors are also welcome to frequent our full service first floor cafeteria, which includes an outdoor deck area. Perched high upon a hill overlooking the city landscape, Fairlawn is surrounded by shaded lawns, grassy knolls, and secluded picnic areas. Therefore, the hospital grounds are perfectly suited for outdoor visits, leisurely walks, and quiet conversation. Fairlawn is a completely smoke free environment. There is no smoking in the facility or on the hospital grounds.
